Helping Your Brother or Sister to Communicate Using AAC

This workshop has long been asked for and will now be presented for two groups of siblings who have a brother or sister in their family who uses augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).

We plan to provide siblings with practical activities to help them better understand why speech is very tricky for everyone to acquire; what methods we all use instead of speech and some strategies they can use to make communication easier.  There will be a poster design section where children can design and present their own posters to the group and take home afterwards.

Parents are encouraged to participate with the children in the last hour of the workshop.
