Introduction to Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)	Participants will be able to discuss multimodal communication and demonstrate behaviours influencing effective and efficient interactions with people who have complex communication needs. This workshop is not about communication devices. There is an emphasis on ‘communication technique’ rather than technology alone.	Townsville. Organised by Workforce Council. Write Me A Story. Use of visual language to develop better understanding of social language.	Participants will be able to explain the rationale for using visual language and demonstrate how to write, caption and colour a visual script.	Townsville. Organised by Workforce Council. An Introduction to the barriers and catalysts to acquiring spoken language	Participants should be able to explain key stages in speech and language development and identify factors which serve as barriers and catalysts. Facilitated Communication Training - ADVANCED	Participants should have completed Basic Training and their practical competencies. Only eight participants are accepted into this competency based training aimed to provide the key skills needed to assist in facilitator training and validation task design.	Meeting Room 1. Pathways at North Lakes. Anzac Av/Bruce Highway Intersection	June 28/29.30	$600 per person for the 3 day block course.
